Need to conserve core area for Great Indian bustard
After Union environment minister Jairam Ramesh recently took up the cause of endangered Great Indian bustard and wrote to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to conserve one of the last remaining habitats of the golden birds the Adbasa (banni) grasslands in Kutch, bird experts and scientists have called for urgent measures to create awareness and a core conservation area for bustard conservation.
